"Tout homme est un livre où Dieu lui-même écrit." - Victor Hugo

As much as I seem to associate gardens with light, pastel colors, I also seem to associate churches with classy and elegant looks.  Not that it is a bad thing. After all, I don't think anyone would dare enter any sacred places dressed in short shorts and a crop top. So that's why today's look is very classy. That and the fact that I created this look after watching an episode of GCB. Also added a dash of color with the jacket and the clutch to avoid the funeral look.

En garde!

Today's location is a castle where "one of Europe's most important collection medieval armor and weaponry is on display" (Patricia Schultz, 1000 Places to See Before You Die, p.36). That's why I chose those jewelries and that headband as I thought they had a sort of medieval vibe, even if made in our time. The rest of the outfit as no logical explanation other than "I was feeling like it".

It is the east, and Juliet is the sun

Stratford-upon-Avon is mainly known as the birthplace of the playwright and poet William Shakespeare. I could have gone for a dramatic look to go with his dramatic plays, but I decided instead to go with a sweet look, perhaps how a modern Juliet would dress. The gold elements of the outfits are there to go with the quote from "Romeo & Juliet" that I used as a title, and the necklace is of course to go with the theme of love of the play. The nerdy glasses are there to show how knowing Shakespeare's plays is usually associated with being a bit nerdy or artsy. Perhaps even more so when not raised in an anglophone society. I think I was the only Sec 2 (Grade 8) student who had read "The Merchant of Venice" (in french, since it's my first language and that shakespearean english didn't really appeal to me).

سَفينة

Hello! Today's locations are two luxurious cruise ships: the QE2 and the QM2. The dress may be white, but the jacket, the shoes and the handbag add a dash of bright colors to the outfit. I also used bright colors to give this elegant outfit a chic vacation feeling, as a cruise on the QM2 (the QE2 doesn't sail anymore and is currently moored in Dubai) might be one of the most elegant vacation one can have.

Lá Fhéile Pádraig

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm part Irish so I decided to make a set  that would go with today's event AND the location. It's a church, so I suppose it works well with a day celebrating a saint.

The main colors of this set are green (the dress) and gold (everything else except the tights) to go with the day's celebration. Because the location is a church, the dress is a bit conservative.

Hwīt

Again, not a garden, so, again, no pastel colors, unless you consider white to be a pastel color, even if white is not a color, but all the colors put together. Even if, when you were at school in art class, mixing all the colors would give you something closer to black (the absence of color).

Anyway, back to the outfit, in which only the dress pops out because of its bright color. The white accessories also pop out, but because of the details in each of them, like the sneakers with lace. The jean jacket is there simply to make the outfit more casual and also because it can be practical if the temperature gets chilly.

Ludlow

Hello. No, I didn't abandon this blog. It's just that I have so little to do that I always put this blog after everything else, and, well, you can see the result. It's amazing how, when you have nearly nothing to do, you always take a decade to do everything.

So, today's look is again set in the british country. I think that because all of my looks so far have been set in the UK, I've received many phishing emails pretending to come from various british banks. I'm not writing this to tell you to be careful (that's obvious), but I kinda find it funny that some hackers thought I was from the UK just because my outfits were inspired by places in the UK.

Back to the outfit, you can see that I stayed away from pastel colors this time. I have to admit that Ludlow is a village, not a garden, so it was much easier for me to avoid pastel colors. The colors I used were the colors of the Union Jack (or the flag itself in the case of the sneakers) and black, my favorite neutral color.
